Audi has unveiled the third generation of its highly successful flagship SUV, the Audi Q7. Building on a rich legacy that dates back to 2005, this new iteration is designed to be the ultimate companion, whether you are navigating a packed business schedule, heading out for a relaxed weekend getaway, or embarking on a long road trip. According to Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, the new generation carries forward its mission as the perfect premium SUV, combining a sporty design with a highly versatile interior and first-class materials.

From the outside, the new Audi Q7 commands immediate attention on the road. It retains its confident presence thanks to powerful proportions, a high shoulder line, and the brand's signature Singleframe front grille. However, it is the advanced lighting technology that truly steals the show. The SUV features optional digital Matrix LED headlights equipped with micro-LED modules capable of projecting high-resolution light patterns directly onto the road. At the rear, third-generation digital OLED lights offer up to eight selectable digital light signatures, creating striking three-dimensional visual effects.

Audi has also tightly integrated these lighting functions with its driver assistance systems to boost safety. For instance, lane guidance and orientation lights project crucial information directly into the driver’s field of view ahead of the vehicle. In a clever safety twist, the advanced turn signals project a stylized indicator onto the ground at night, synchronised with the dynamic indicators, to quickly alert cyclists and other road users of an upcoming turn. Even stepping into the vehicle is an experience, as opening the front doors projects a sharp, white rhombus onto the ground to light your path.

Inside the cabin, passengers are greeted by premium luxury and exceptional flexibility. The Q7 can be tailored to individual needs with five, six, or seven-seat configurations, all featuring electrically adjustable seating. The six-seat layout introduces two individual seats in the second row for a distinct business-class feel, while the popular seven-seat option allows for the installation of three child seats. Overhead, a large, illuminated panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency creates an incredibly spacious, airy atmosphere.

Everyday practicality has also received a significant upgrade. A redesigned centre console boasts expansive decorative trim, extra-large cup holders, and space to wirelessly charge two smartphones to the latest Qi2 standard. Luggage space remains a major strength for the Q7. The five-seater model offers a generous boot capacity of up to 806 litres, which expands to a massive 2,075 litres when the second-row seats are folded flat. Even the seven-seater variant provides an impressive 722 litres of space behind the second row.

Under the bonnet, the new Q7 delivers a blend of effortless performance and modern efficiency. At launch, the SUV is powered by a robust 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, available in two power outputs: 180 kW (245 PS) or a more potent 220 kW (299 PS). Both engines feature an electric-powered compressor for instant throttle response alongside Audi's new MHEV plus mild-hybrid technology. This system utilizes a next-generation powertrain generator to temporarily supplement the drivetrain with up to 18 kW (24 PS) of additional output, ensuring powerful starts and highly efficient cruising.

Power is managed via an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and sent to the road through Audi's permanent quattro all-wheel drive. Drivers opting for the top-tier quattro setup will benefit from a new limited-slip centre differential with preload, which delivers improved traction, effortless steering response, and precise handling during sudden load changes. While the standard steel spring suspension ensures a superior ride, buyers can choose optional adaptive air suspension or adaptive air suspension sport with controlled damping for an even more agile drive.

To make long journeys even more relaxed, the Q7 offers a suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive driving assistant plus, which manages acceleration, braking, speed, and lane-keeping. Parking is also made simpler with a trained parking feature that learns individual manoeuvres, alongside a new reverse assist function for backing out of tight spaces.

Built at the Bratislava plant just like its predecessors, the new Audi Q7 will be available to order in Germany from June 2026, with deliveries commencing in September.
