Harwoods acquired Audi back in 2000, taking on the Portsmouth dealership as the first ever Audi site in the group. The showroom and bespoke aftersales centre are built on the old Portsmouth Airport site. In fact, the Audi aftersales centre was converted from an old aircraft hanger on Airspeed Road! The aftersales site was newly refurbished in 2021, spanning over 19,000 sq ft and boasting state-of-the art, automatic drop off lanes, 14 ramps, 2 MOT bays and a 4-wheel alignment ramp.
In 2022, the new showroom opened its doors with a brand new look. Before you’ve walked through the doors the unmistakable presence of Audi is clear, with a bold, honeycomb design wrapping around the site, exuding the sporty, innovative essence of Audi. The Portsmouth site is one of the few select showrooms in the network with the honeycomb design on the exterior - exclusive! As you walk through the doors you’re greeted with the new sleek and stylish interior, with a luxury yet minimalist feel. Bold colours are met with softer tones which together with the modern decor, embody the character of Audi. Keeping the original framework, the dealership has doubled in capacity, opening up the space to seamlessly flow around some of Audi’s stunning new models, while creating balance with quiet areas to converse, or sit and relax with a coffee from the complimentary hot drinks station. The bigger space has also allowed for more Audi speciality, with a dedicated area to Audi Sport.
To mark the opening of Audi Portsmouth, an exciting launch event was held on Thursday 29th September, to welcome customers, staff and members of the senior management team from Audi UK, to experience the new, contemporary showroom and unveil a range of sleek and sporty cars. The showroom was officially opened by Guy Harwood, son of the Harwoods founder and company Chairman, and by Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK. The evening got underway with some speeches from our directors and Guy. Guests mingled, enjoyed champagne and canapes while exploring the new showroom. Guests also took part in a competition with fabulous prizes.
