Introducing the Ultimate Defender Experience
Welcome to the new 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA - the most dynamically accomplished Defender ever created. Unveiled in July 2024, this flagship model takes the legendary capability of the Defender 110 to new heights, combining extreme toughness with luxury in a way that truly lives up to its name, itself inspired by the octahedral shape of a diamond.
Unmatched Power and Performance
The Defender OCTA is equipped with a 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine producing 635PS and up to 750Nm of torque (increasing to 800Nm with Dynamic Launch Mode). It can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph when fitted with 22-inch lightweight alloy wheels and all-season tyres.
But, what makes the OCTA truly special is how the power is harnessed both on roads and rugged terrain. The peak torque is available from just 1,800rpm through to almost 6,000rpm, providing exceptional driveability across all conditions.
Revolutionary 6D Dynamics Suspension
At the heart of the Defender OCTA's game-changing performance is the introduction of hydraulically-interlinked 6D Dynamics suspension technology - a first for any Defender model. This advanced system virtually eliminates pitch and body roll on-road while enabling greater wheel articulation off-road, allowing the vehicle to tackle even more extreme obstacles with unprecedented comfort and control.
The suspension sits 28mm higher than standard Defenders, with a stance widened by 68mm for superior ground clearance and stability. Additional upgrades include longer and tougher wishbones, unique active dampers with separate accumulators, uprated 400mm front brake discs with Brembo callipers, and the fastest steering ratio of any Defender to date.
Designed to Dominate Any Terrain
The OCTA includes specialised drive modes to unlock its full capabilities. Dynamic Mode provides the ultimate performance-focused on-road experience, tuning the vehicle's steering, throttle and suspension settings for maximum responsiveness. OCTA Mode - the first-ever Defender off-road driving mode with a performance focus - features Off-Road Launch control for optimum acceleration on loose surfaces and a unique Off-Road ABS calibration for optimum braking performance.
For more technical off-road manoeuvres, the familiar Terrain Response modes remain at the driver's fingertips, with specific calibrations for Sand, Mud and Ruts, Grass Gravel Snow, and Rock Crawl. These are assisted by off-road driver aids such as ClearSight Ground View, which effectively makes the bonnet transparent through the use of cameras for improved visibility off the beaten track.
The vehicle can wade through water up to one metre deep - the deepest of any production Defender. It automatically detects which surface it's being driven on and optimises its dynamic settings accordingly, ensuring maximum capability and driver confidence in any situation.
